We
offer short or long-term placements, on a planned or emergency basis, to all
ages of children and young people.
Our foster
carers have a range of experience and we can consider, depending on
availability, referrals that include the following:
We
prefer that children have their own rooms, especially for the older child, but
would use shared bedroom space by agreement with the placing social worker.
Placement
availability for children/young people who present a risk of abuse or violence
will be limited to those placements where there is minimal access to other
children.
Therapeutic
input can be provided where necessary by arrangement.
The 'named'
carer is asked to be available on a full-time basis, i.e. to be fully available
for the child if she/he is sick, home from school, on a school holiday; and
available for all meetings and appointments related to the child in
placement. This means that for a carer to seek secondary employment is
not seen to be appropriate. All our carers are encouraged to make daily
recordings. Typed copies of these are sent to the child's social worker.
